Earth Day

Earth Day was observed in the school on 21 April 2023. A wide array of activities were organized on the occasion to sensitize students about the conservation of natural resources and to motivate them to do their bit towards making their planet even more beautiful. The special assembly commenced with a speech emphasizing the need to keep our planet clean and green followed by the recitation of a self composed poem by Miss Geetipurna Talukdar of class VIII and a street play to create awareness about the need to protect our environment and make the world a better place to live in. National award , Pragati Puraskar 2016 winner Shri Sameer Bordoloi, was invited as the guest speaker of the day. He enlightened the students on ways to protect mother earth and create a food forest, concept of Zero Tillage farming and difference between local and hybrid food. He also demonstrated proper method of planting saplings and preparing seed bombs with the help of compost. Shri Jogeshwar Gogoi, Headmaster, Chutiakari Junior Basic School along with the students was also invited on the occasion as part of the Vidyanjali Project. The day long celebration was capped off with a plantation and cleanliness drive in the school premises.
