POCSO Act webinar

A webinar was held in the school for the entire staff of APS and APPS on 19 Aug 2023 to sensitize them about the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences(POCSO) Act 2012 and its significance in ensuring child safety. The webinar was organized with a view to create a safe and nurturing educational environment for the students. The session began with an overview of the POCSO Act, highlighting its relevance and scope followed by fundamental provisions of the act, including the definition of a child, various types of offenses and the importance of maintaining the child’s privacy during legal proceedings. The session empowered staff members with the knowledge required to protect students and handle sensitive situations effectively. It also extensively covered the offenses classified under the act and the corresponding penalties. The webinar concluded with an interactive Q&A session, allowing staff members to seek clarifications and discuss specific scenarios related to child safety and the POCSO Act.
